We’ve been waiting a long time for Don Coscarelli’s final installment of the Phantasm series. According to Entertainment Weekly, the wait will be over this October! Phantasm: Ravager, which has been in the works for quite some time, will finally see the light of day when it is released in theaters October 7th.
Ravager is the fifth and final in the series, as well as the last appearance of Angus Scrimm as the otherworldly undertaker known as the Tall Man, as he died in January at 89. The film was directed by David Hartman (the first not directed by Coscarelli himself) and brings back A. Michael Baldwin and Reggie Bannister to battle the Tall Man’s weird little robed minions.
A remastered version of the original 1979 Phantasm will screen in theaters in September, followed by Blu-ray releases of each film in the series later in the year.
